Why Support the Casa

Why Support the Casa?

One of the Casa's Ex-General Director comments:

"In looking toward the Casa's second century of service, I am more convinced than ever before of the value of this specialized ministry to the entire Spanish-speaking world. Although we recognize that a number of other languages and dialects are spoken throughout Latin America and Spain, we must remember that by far the dominant and official language of government and business in those same countries is still Spanish. For this reason alone, even if there were no other reason, this publishing ministry in the Spanish language is a key avenue for spreading the gospel through the myriad resources of the Casa. Significant communities of Spanish speakers are alive and well on every continent of the earth regardless of the 'official' language in those countries. These communities whose heart language is Spanish depend primarily upon the resources of the Casa to provide doctrinally sound materials for evangelism, discipleship, church growth, and expansion. I firmly believe the Casa amply fulfills needs for Spanish speakers around the globe, and increasingly so in the United States as well, that no other entity is equipped or prepared to fill.

"My paramount dream for the second century of the Casa's ministry is specifically concerned with the Baptist Spanish Publishing House Foundation. My dream is that the Foundation will grow to such an extent that significant funding can and will be provided for the Casa to enagle needed resources to continue to reach the hands of Spanish-speaking people at a price they can afford to pay even if it means the Casa must sell those resources at a subsidized price. The Casa's ministry has always been characterized as just that - a ministry - rather than a money-making business venture as is the case with most other publishing houses. This fact alone distinguishes the Casa from most of her 'competitors.'

"I have seen numerous changes in the methods, materials, operations, techniques, strategies, policies and procedures utilized by Casa personnel in recent years, including those during which I was leading. Likewise, I fully expect to see many changes in both immediate and longrange outlooks for this ministry. Change is inevitable, and I welcome it!

" Our societies become increasingly more dependent upon electronic means of communication with each passing year, but the printed word has been and will continue to be a primary means of communication for many years to come. At the same time, I believe a great part of the future of the Casa depends upon the ability to employ not only the printed and recorded word, but also the electronically reproduced word through the Internet, CDs, DVDs, mini-DVDs, and whatever vehicle tomorrow's technology may offer. The Casa's ministry is constantly changing in regard to methods, but we must never change from presenting the central message of Christ until He returns!"
